NAIS website design & development

Building a professional digital presence
for a specialist onshore and offshore services business.

Overview

NAIS provides specialist construction, maintenance and safety-critical services across oil & gas, petrochemical, industrial and infrastructure environments. The business needed a professional website that clearly communicated its capabilities, experience and approach to prospective clients and existing industry contacts. Rather than creating a heavily sales-led website, the focus was on building a credible digital presence that reflects how NAIS operates: specialist, practical, safety-conscious and straightforward. The finished site gives visitors a clear place to understand what NAIS does, where it operates and how to discuss an upcoming scope.

The Challenge

NAIS works in technically demanding environments where safety, competence and reliability matter more than marketing language. The challenge was to communicate a broad range of specialist services without overwhelming visitors or making the business difficult to understand. The website also needed to work for people who may already know of NAIS through a recommendation, industry contact or existing relationship and are visiting to learn more about the company. The result needed to feel professional and credible while making technical information clear and easy to navigate.

Project Objectives

The project focused on several key objectives:

  • Create a professional digital presence for NAIS.
  • Clearly explain its core services and capabilities.
  • Make technical information easier to scan and understand.
  • Show the industries and environments NAIS supports.
  • Reinforce experience, safety and competence with useful evidence.
  • Create a straightforward route from research to enquiry.
  • Deliver a responsive experience across desktop, tablet and mobile.
  • Build a maintainable front-end system that can grow with the business.

  • Responsive front-end development
  • HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Reusable component development
  • Contact and enquiry experience
  • Client feedback and design refinement
  • Version control and deployment
  • Domain, HTTPS and form configuration
  • Responsive testing and final QA

Design Thinking

Designing around the business

Not every website needs to work like a high-volume sales funnel.
NAIS operates in specialist industrial environments where potential clients may arrive through existing relationships, recommendations, procurement or direct industry contact.

The website therefore needed to work as a professional reference point, somewhere visitors could understand the business, check its capabilities and build confidence before making contact.

The structure was designed around the practical questions a prospective client is likely to have:

  • What does NAIS do?
  • Where can they work?
  • What services can they provide?
  • Do they have the right experience and competence?
  • How do they approach the work?
  • How do I contact them?

Answering those questions clearly became more important than adding unnecessary sales messaging.

Making specialist services easier to understand

NAIS provides several related capabilities across electrical, fabric maintenance, rigging, mechanical and construction work. These were organised into clear service areas rather than relying on broad descriptions of the company’s overall capability. The homepage gives visitors a quick overview, while the dedicated Services page provides more detail, typical scopes and relevant imagery.

This allows someone to understand the business quickly and explore more detail only when they need it.

Building trust through evidence

For this audience, credibility needed to come from useful information rather than promotional claims. Experience, operating environments, qualifications, working practices and safety are presented throughout the site to help visitors judge the business for themselves. Relevant qualifications and accreditations are supported by clear information about how NAIS works and the environments its teams operate within.

The aim wasn’t simply to tell visitors that NAIS is trustworthy. It was to give them reasons to reach that conclusion themselves.

Creating the visual language

The visual direction builds on the existing NAIS blue identity and the industrial environments in which the business operates. Deep navy sections, light content areas and relevant industrial photography create a professional technical feel while separating information into clear sections.Cards, icons and consistent interface elements help organise more detailed information without making the pages feel overly complex. The design intentionally avoids feeling like a consumer service website. It needed to feel appropriate for a specialist contractor working in demanding, safety-critical environments.

The goal wasn’t to sell harder.
It was to make a specialist business
easier to understand and
easier to trust.

Making the process clear

The website also explains how NAIS approaches a project rather than leaving visitors to work it out themselves. The process is reduced to four clear stages:

Understand the scope → Survey & plan → Execute → Close-out

This gives prospective clients a quick understanding of how work is planned and delivered while reinforcing communication, control and documentation.

Designing the enquiry journey

The Contact page was designed around the information NAIS actually needs to understand a potential scope. Before reaching the form, visitors are shown the useful details to provide, including the location, service required, scope, timing, access requirements and supporting documents. The form follows the same structure, helping prospective clients provide a more useful enquiry from the start.

A final What happens next section then explains how the enquiry will be reviewed and what the client can expect afterwards. This makes the next step clearer for the visitor while helping NAIS receive better structured enquiries.

Development

The website was custom-built using HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with reusable components and consistent layout patterns across the Home, About, Services and Contact pages.

Development focused on responsive behaviour, accessibility, performance and creating a maintainable front-end system that can support the website as it develops.

Outcome

NAIS now has a professional digital presence that reflects the specialist nature of the business and the environments in which it operates.

The finished website gives existing contacts, referrals and prospective clients a clear place to understand its capabilities, build confidence in the business and discuss upcoming work.
